Recordings at Waterdown House

This year, we welcomed Naruhiko Kawaguchi to Waterdown House where he recorded a progamme on three of our instruments.  We regularly encourage recordings and research projects on the collection and are delighted to share his feedback.

"Hello. Thank you for your email and I really want to tell my deepest thank to you and your friends. Thank you for your all kindness and warmful and heartful time for me and my team.

I was really happy to play the amazing and precious pianos: Clementi square piano c.1825, Graf c.1826 and Rosenberger c.1795 of Finckcocks. They have their own beautiful identities and I really enjoyed communicating with them and playing Beethoven with them. I could find many colorful aspects of Beethoven. It was a really nice experience for me!!

I am very looking forward to releasing my Beethoven CD (Signum Classics) with the fantastic pianos of Finckcocks (it will be 2026, maybe). And I’m looking forward to meeting Katrina and Helena and your friends again in future!!
